I got in the pool.  But it just made me miss mom.  I miss her insanely dark skin that smelled like Nivea.  I miss talking about life while we floated in the pool.  I miss joking about her flip flop tan lines she was trying to even out.  I miss fetching her peanut butter crackers and peach wine while she sat on the tanning ledge.  She should be there on the tanning ledge while I cool off inside.  But she&#8217;s not.
